Leftover Dye!

The extra benefit of dying my hair rainbow for the wedding - I now have a large quantity of lots of colors!

This week I went with Purple -> Blue -> Orange! Rawr! I did more blending rather than try and keep the colors separate so it went really quickly.

The Reception!

The Reception: A Timeline with Pictures

We arrived at the beautiful Castle Unicorn at 1pm

Arriving early allowed us to set up the centerpieces, get dressed, and do copious amounts of drinking/jelloshots!

The wonderful Scarlett Crews, our photographer, arrived later in the afternoon. So we sneaked off and got some pictures of just the two of us since we never got around to getting engagement photos.

The castle is surrounded by a gorgeous forest area

The upper part of the castle is a giant patio with fantastic views! We got cat-called several times during our photos

Then a bunch of family and friends photos! Here are my nieces that my mom made matching skirts with the leftovers from my dress!

Photobombed!

One last jelloshot before the party!

It was beautiful, marvelous, and some of the best fun I ever had!

Cigars were smoked, s'mores were eaten, and we danced the night away...

The Rings!

Here are our rings! They are a bit.. non-traditional...

The 'engagement' rings are D20 spinner rings because we both share a passion for Dungeons & Dragons and tabletop gaming.

Our wedding bands are Legend of Zelda song rings! Meaning they are an ocarina song from the LoZ: Ocarina of Time, in particular the Song of Storms. The inside of mine is engraved 'Wisdom', his is 'Courage', I will let you figure that one out.

Fun fact: J's ring diameter is three inches!

The Cake!

For the reception we had a Legend of Zelda themed cake done! Since our passion for the game series lead to our wedding bands, it only seemed fitting. The amazing Omaha Cake Gallery made it! Soooooo incredibly delicious.

I now present to you the Coolest. Cake. Ever.

The bottom tier features an 8-bit Link and Zelda on a background of the map of Hyrule from "A Link to the Past", which is J's favorite game. The middle tier is of Midna riding Wolf Link on a background of the castle from "Twilight Princess", my favorite game. The top tier featured the crest with rupees surrounding it. Topping the cake was the master sword and the Link and Zelda amiibos!

They added two SNES controllers coming out of the cake!

They also added rupees all over, an ocarina, a treasure chest, and the Hyrulian Shield!

The flavors were coconut on the bottom and top tiers, and banana cream in the middle. I am now convinced that I need to get a fancy cake for every special occasion!

It was so delicious and appetizing that my adorable niece couldn't wait for us to finish first piece and start sharing!
